These are very small holes in the fired glaze surface penetrating down to the body below. They don’t affect the durability or safe use of the piece itself, which is still completely vitrified. While it is common to find one or two teeny-tiny pinholes on any given piece of stoneware, anything more than that might make a piece “second-worthy.”
